Please note that what I refer to as a performance also incorporates a workshop element. Over the years, I have found that 'teaching by modelling' is more effective, for me, than what you might call the traditional workshop approach.
I hope the following words from a Y4 teacher, after a full-day performance, are helpful.
"It was like in-service training and entertainment rolled into one. Not only were the children fired up when we went back to the classroom but we were all able to have a go at creating our own performance poems, using your models and starting-points. I felt confident that I knew what I was doing - and could do again. Great!"
